What is AEP?
AEP is the Advanced Elementary Program.
The mission of the Advanced Elementary Program is to support gifted and talented learners in developing their potential by providing time to learn with intellectual peers through theme-based experiences specifically designed for gifted and talented learners.
Program Goals:
- Develop critical thinking, creative thinking, analytical thinking, and executive process skills
- Provide access to and training in tools and resources for advanced research
- Foster self-awareness and intellectual curiosity
- Provide authentic learning opportunities for students in their areas of strength and interest
- Foster an educational climate of appreciation for gifts and talents of students in our district.
Students in the AEP program have qualified according to state criteria for placement of gifted and talented students.
