The Run Hard club is an eight week running club for Elementary and Middle Schoolers that equips students to run a 5K. During the season, students train twice a week for about 1 1/2 hours with a focus on endurance training and the Run Hard Core Values. Run Hard utilizes character-based concepts to teach running, healthy lifestyle and decision-making skills. Designed for 2nd-8th graders, Run Hard encourages teamwork throughout the lessons and workouts. Regardless of your athletic background or current fitness level, Run Hard will live out the motto: "build up, don't tear down."
Participants are given the opportunity to earn "rewards along the way. For Example, when they accomplish 1.5 miles they have earned their RUN HARD t-shirt. Our goal is to reward them for working hard towards a specific goal. Upon completion of the program, each participant will have earned a water bottle, dri-fit moisture wicking shirt, and "Finisher" medal.
Male students at Wood Elementary may begin signing up to participate on February 1, 2019. The program will begin on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 and will culminate with the 5K race in May. Contact Mrs. Jenny Schneider at 803-755-7420 / [email protected] or register online at www.runhard.org.
